Mount Sinai Health System Launches Patient Experience App For Android Devices

Mount Sinai Health System recently announced the launch of the Android version of its mobile application for patients, called MountSinaiNY. Developed by Mount Sinai’s Department of Information Technology, MountSinaiNY serves as a one-touch patient experience, featuring information and links that make it easier to access and use health services offered at the Mount Sinai Health System. The app was first released in the Apple App Store in June 2016.

“Patients visiting Mount Sinai want access to familiar technology that simplifies their experience,” said Bruce Darrow, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Information Officer, Mount Sinai Health System. “Offering our app on Android devices is the next step in helping our patients use the power of their mobile devices to improve their care.”

The app offers users a variety of features, including appointment booking, bill payment, access to patient medical records, general information about Mount Sinai facilities, and live blog and social media updates. Future updates to the app include telemedicine, wayfinding, and enhanced access to Mount Sinai services.

Mount Sinai chose LifeMap Solutions, a subsidiary of BioTime, INC., to develop the MountSinaiNY app.
