Medalogix Wins $37,500 In The Harvard Health Acceleration Challenge

Nashville-based health tech company selected over institutions like the Cleveland Clinic, Stanford, MD Anderson and more

Harvard University named Medalogix, a Nashville-based healthcare technology company that provides analytics solutions to the post-acute market, a finalist in its Health Acceleration Challenge. Of nearly 500 applicants, including institutions like the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, MD Anderson, Stanford, Intermountain, MGH and more, Medalogix was chosen as one of only four finalists and has won $37,500 from the Harvard Business School, the administrator of the challenge.

Medalogix was recognized for it's Bridge solution—an analytic-based technology that helps identify and facilitate end of life care conversations with patients who would benefit from hospice care. In addition to the prize money, as a finalist, Medalogix will have:

  • A Harvard Business School case study written about its innovative approach to end of life care.
  • The chance to present to 150 senior health care executives at the Forum on Health Care Innovation conference in April.
  • An opportunity to compete for the ultimate prize of $50,000, which will be awarded one year from now depending on how well the finalists have scaled.

“Being chosen as one of the more impactful healthcare innovations by such a prestigious institution like Harvard is a great compliment to us and validating to our mission,” said Dan Hogan, Medalogix founder and CEO. “For years we’ve been working with our heads down to innovate and build meaningful technology that improves patient care. Harvard’s Health Acceleration Challenge is a big stage that will give us the platform to affect even more patients in the long run. Our team couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Applicants were judged on: their impact – or their potential to improve the quality of care and return value to the healthcare system; performance metrics from existing users of the technology, and their dissemination plan. Three other organizations were named finalists: Twine Health, Bloodbuy and I-PASS. Medalogix was the only company from the Southeast named as a finalist.
