Healthcare Control Systems (HCS) To Improve Surgical Workflows For Department Of Veterans Affairs

(HCS), as a subcontractor to HP Enterprise Services, to deliver surgical workflow improvements under the $543 million VA Real Time Location System (RTLS) contract. The RTLS contract provides for the improvement of surgical workflows at 152 VA medical centers across the U.S.

Palo Alto, California and Austin, Texas (PRWEB) - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) selected Healthcare Control Systems, Inc. (HCS), as a subcontractor to HP Enterprise Services, to deliver surgical workflow improvements under the $543 million VA Real Time Location System (RTLS) contract. The RTLS contract provides for the improvement of surgical workflows at 152 VA medical centers across the U.S.

In tackling surgical workflow improvements, HP will deploy HCS’s Operating Room (OR) Control System (ORControl™) at VA medical centers to solve the real time logistics and communications challenges faced daily by VA patients, families, administrators, physicians, nurses, technicians, and clerks. The OR Control System will continuously coordinate and help prioritize the activities of all parties throughout each of their workdays. The OR Control System is already deployed at the VA medical center in Houston, Texas, and has delivered significant hard dollar savings. Houston’s data document improvements in (i) case volumes, (ii) staff overtime, (iii) first case starts on time, (iv) operating room turnover times, and (v) the time from veteran check-in to surgery.
