Some Apps Better Than Others At Promoting Well-Being

“Freeman Everywhere” includes physician directory, ER, and Urgent Care wait times.

Freeman Health System has launched Freeman Everywhere, a hospital mobile app using the MobileSmith mobile app development platform according to a press release. The app operates without any coding.

In an effort to improve patient engagement using mobile devices, the hospital opted to create a native mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones. The app includes a physician and services directory, class and event schedules, hospital hours, and health times, as well as real-time ER and Urgent Care wait times. The app also allows for geo-location messaging.

“We were impressed with how easy and quick it was to prototype, build and launch our Freeman Everywhere app with the MobileSmith platform,” said Liz Syer, Director of Marketing at Freeman. “We expect great results from our mobile app strategy, having designed our first app to meet our mobile patients’ needs as another convenience to stay in touch and up-to-date with our health system.”

Because the MobileSmith Platform uses no coding, it empowers non-programmers at Freeman Health to take control over their organization’s mobile strategy through its uncomplicated native app prototyping and over-the-air testing and delivery; dedicated, role-based CMS access for easy app management; and platform extensions that allow app creators to embed custom native or HTML5 functionality.

“We are excited about the mobile app Freeman Health System has just launched with us,” said Robert Hancock, MobileSmith VP of Sales. “Patients’ mobile needs evolve quickly, and hospitals have to adopt an agile mobile strategy to meet those needs.”

Locally owned, not-for-profit and nationally recognized, Freeman Health System is a 485-bed system that includes Freeman Hospital West, Freeman Hospital East, Freeman Neosho Hospital and Ozark Center – the area’s largest provider of behavioral health services – as well as two urgent care clinics, dozens of physician clinics and a variety of specialty services. It provides comprehensive healthcare and behavioral health services to more than 450,000 patients across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
