The conference is designed to equip HIT professionals with resources to combat breaches and hacks.

The Anthem data breach has brought health information privacy and security issues to the limelight in urgent new ways. Now, healthcare cybersecurity firm Sensato and consulting firm Divurgent have created a partnership to serve the healthcare community, and have announced a three-day hands-on conference for HIT professionals in March.

The conference, Hacking Healthcare 2015, will be a healthcare specific cybersecurity led by veteran security specialist John Gomez, CEO at Sensato and former CTO at Allscripts, Eclipsys, and WebMD.

Gomez said, “Healthcare now has a cyber-security conference that focuses on the unique challenges and threats faced by those responsible for safeguarding healthcare systems.” The event promises to educate HIT professionals regarding cybersecurity threats specific to healthcare, as well as attack analysis methodologies, common cybersecurity myths, and more.

“The program is highly immersive, meaning you will find yourself in the world of cybersecurity, not just on the sidelines,” according to promotional materials. “More importantly, the entire program is 100 percent focused on healthcare information technology.”

Due to the sensitive nature of the conference topics, attendance is limited to those affiliated with a provider, payer or vendor organization.
